The two-year Administrative Support Technology curriculum is designed to prepare the student for full-time employment immediately upon completion of the program. The program includes instruction in areas required for competence as office support personnel in business, government, industry, law offices, and other industries. The program also prepares students for certification as a Microsoft Certified Application Specialist (MCAS).

Considerations for Selecting Degree The two-year curriculum combines instruction in the many areas required for competence as an administrative medical assistant, medical coder, and related positions in the medical setting. The curriculum will include courses in Administrative Support Technology, medical transcription, medical terminology, medical office procedures, medical billing and coding, medical insurance, general education and electives.

Associate Transfer Degree Completion The student development (SDV 100) requirement at SVCC is waived for students who have completed an associate or baccalaureate degree from a regionally accredited institution. All other coursework is evaluated and transferred as applicable to your degree.

Completion of Associate Degree Concurrent with High School Students earning an associate degree while in high school are not eligible for guaranteed admission programs. All courses are evaluated and transferred as applicable to your degree.
Credit for Prior Learning We accept AP, IB, Dantes, and CLEP results for college credit if the score earned meets college expectations.
