Eastern Shore Community College

The Associate of Science, Science Degree is designed for persons who are interested in transferring into a science or pre-professional baccalaureate program. This program is designed to prepare students for programs with an emphasis on STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math). Scientifically oriented persons are in demand in business,government, industry, and a variety of health professions.

Outcomes

Students will be able to: Demonstrate the ability to utilize the scientific method including analysis and drawing conclusions from generated scientific data and be able to present and defend findings. Successfully transfer to a four-year college or university. Read, write, and analyze effectively across disciplines. Recognize and interpret the meaning of quantitative and mathematical symbols appropriate for logic processes to make meaningful decisions and solve problems.

  • Create a schedule for all required courses, pay attention to prerequisites and when courses are offered, complete your first math and English courses in your first year
  • Connect with an advisor at your community college and Eastern Shore Community College within your first year via College Connect
Program Requirements Beyond Specific Courses Not all four year schools accept Science courses with online labs. Make sure you plan accordingly. This degree requires a culminating Capstone project or internship.

Transfer Guidance Element What You Need to Know
Associate Transfer Degree Completion Students must earn 25% of their credits at ESCC for an Associate degree from our institution. Students who transfer to ESCC with a completed Associate degree will be awarded SDV 100 and will have their transcript evaluated for other course transfer. Students who transfer to ESCC with a completed Bachelor degree from a U.S. college or university will be awarded SDV 100, ENG 111 and ENG 112. The transcript will be evaluated for other course transfer.

Completion of Associate Degree Concurrent with High School ESCC does not distinguish between students earning an associate degree concurrently, while in high school, or after high school graduation.
