The Uniform Certificate of General Studies prepares first time job seekers with the basic competencies which can help them be more competitive in the job market and more valuable in the workplace. For those individuals who wish to continue their education, the general education certificate provides foundational courses that allow students to progress toward the associate degree or to transfer to a senior institution.

| Program Requirements Beyond Specific Courses | In addition to the general admissions requirements of the college, entry requires satisfactory completion of the following high school units or equivalents as a minimum: 4 units of English; 2 units of college preparatory mathematics; 1 unit of laboratory science; and 1 unit of history. Students with deficiencies will require developmental studies. |
