Considerations for Selecting Degree This CSC can be completed entirely online. Basic math (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division) and basic algebra are required, which is covered in the first accounting class.
Considerations When Selecting Courses

Course work should be completed in the order it appears in the catalog.

  • Create a schedule for all required courses, pay attention to prerequisites and when courses are offered, complete your first math and English courses in your first year
  • Connect with an advisor at your community college and Southwest Virginia Community College within your first year via College Connect
Program Requirements Beyond Specific Courses ACC 211 must be taken before ACC 212. Suggest taking ACC 211 before ACC 124 and ACC 215.
Doing More With Your Degree Bookkeeping CSC will be completed in the first two semesters of the Accounting AAS degree. Bookkeeping CSC can be added to any business program to make one more employable. This CSC alone will help to obtain employment in entry-level accounting positions. Bookkeeping CSC can be completed to help fulfill requirements for CPA exam.
Program Successes & Highlights 95% of students are placed in permanent jobs in the last semester of the program.
