Considerations for Selecting Degree	Degree provides educational opportunities for those who seek employment in industry, for those who desire to upgrade their knowledge or acquire practical skills in the field, and for those who wish to transfer and complete a bachelor of science degree in mechanical engineering technology. Upon completion of this program occupational objectives include draftsman/designer, engineer's aide, engineering technician, industrial test technician or other related positions.
Considerations When Selecting Courses	Students pursuing this degree have an option for transfer to ODU's engineering technology program upon graduation with required GPA. Students pursuing this track should check with transfer institution for elective selection. Create a schedule for all required courses, pay attention to prerequisites and when courses are offered, complete your first math and English courses in your first year Connect with an advisor at your community college and Laurel Ridge Community College within your first year via College Connect

Associate Transfer Degree Completion	Students transferring to Laurel Ridge with an Associate Degree or higher already completed will be able to transfer in applicable credits to their degree and will have SDV 100 waived.
Completion of Associate Degree Concurrent with High School	Laurel Ridge does not distinguish between students earning an associate degree while in high school or after high school graduation.
