REL3000: RELIGIONS OF THE WORLD

This course focuses on the basic notions and meanings that constitute beliefs and world views of the major part of the humanity. It is impossible to understand our history, culture and even man himself outside religious fact. Different data coming from religious sciences such as history, philosophy, sociology, psychology and anthropology of religion will be analysed in order to discuss what answers are offered by the major religious systems to the questions about God, future life, moral responsibility of man, understanding of our world etc. and how these beliefs shape our behaviours, social order, laws and mentality of man within different cultures not only in the past, but also in the contemporary world.
