This course provides a basic overview of the current knowledge about our Universe. Students will become familiar with the night sky, astronomical instruments/measurements, and various components of our Universe. Students will be able to demonstrate scientific and quantitative reasoning, including the ability to apply generally accepted processes of mathematical and scientific inquiry in addressing problems. Students are required to have some knowledge of basic algebra for this course. Prior knowledge of astronomy is not required for this course. This course is part of the DELL General Education Program and meets the general education scientific literacy requirement. A lab fee is required.
