This course is designed to meet the DELL general education scientific literacy requirement at Lynchburg and it is also a prerequisite for nursing majors. This course introduces the fundamental principles of general, organic, and biochemistry necessary for understanding the chemistry of life processes. The following topics will be emphasized: measurements, dosage calculations, chemical bonding, organic compounds and biomolecules. Scientific inquiry will be applied in the laboratory portion of this course. The course includes a three-hour weekly lab period. A lab fee is required.
