An introduction to the art of narrative film and how dramatic and visual elements, including editing, cinematography, set design, sound, and performance, create meaning. Topics also covered include the materials and methods of film making, the major styles and genres of film, and filmÕs relationship to history. Open to first-year students. No prerequisite.
