CHEM111: General Chemistry I

Concepts and theories of atomic structure, chemical bonding, gases, liquids, and solids. Qualitative and quantitative descriptions of chemical reactions. Solution chemistry. This course satisfies the Modes of Inquiry requirement for Understanding the Natural World. Prerequisite: Math placement test score exceeding the requirement for MATH 100 courses or a grade of C- or higher in MATH 100. Corequisite: CHEM 111L. Three lecture hours. Four semester hours.
