ENG204: Intro to Film Studies

This course will provide students with an introduction to the academic analysis of film. Over the course of the semester, we will explore the ways in which formal choices (visual, aural, and structural) and contextual cues can create both narrative and ideological meanings. This course will introduce terminology, provide copious examples, and help the student to develop the writing and speaking skills necessary for the academic study of motion pictures.
